A detective pub quiz

For people who watch true crime and think, "I'd have solved it."

A team detective game in a bar. One to ten people, one real case, one night to crack it. No trivia. Whoever thinks best wins.

You untangle the case.

You study the evidence.

You catch a lie.

You deliver a verdict.

Why this exists

You don't need to know things. You need to think.

Five rounds, one crime. Evidence from round one matters in round five. Google what you want — that's part of detective work. AI won't help. Reasoning, attention, cold calculation. That's it.

No prep. Evidence is already collected and waiting in your phone. Be a detective for one evening.

The game

Five rounds. One case. One night.

The structure shifts to fit each case — new mechanics show up all the time. What you see below is the baseline.

  1. Round 1

    Audio

Five short scenes: phone calls, witness interrogations, voice messages, sounds from the crime scene. What happened? Who's speaking? Where?

  2. Round 2

    Case file

A full case file: forensic report, crime-scene photos, surveillance footage, message threads. Seven questions, each harder than the last.

  3. Round 3

    Ciphers

Five original ciphers across text, image, audio, and open sources. Crack the principle first, the answer second. Googling is encouraged.

  4. Round 4

    Interrogation + new evidence

A live, branching interrogation — you choose what to ask next. New evidence drops: files, bank records, medical charts, archives. Earlier rounds matter.

  5. Round 5

    Solve the case

The crime isn't done yet. Who's next? Where? When? A few short questions whose answers you've been collecting all night.

How it works

Four steps. No prep.

  1. 1

    Captain books the team

Pick a case, date, and bar. Give your team a name and a headcount (1–10). One captain per team.

  2. 2

    Show up at the bar

A table with your team name is waiting. Everything you need is on your phones — game runs ~2.5 hours, charge up beforehand.

  3. 3

    Open the case

Two and a half hours. Evidence, testimony, theories, verdict. Discuss as a team; the captain submits the final answer.

  4. 4

    Leaderboard + prizes

We announce the standings, explain every answer, and crown the best detectives of the night. The chat stays open.

No team? We'll match you with one. Detective fee starts at 500 RUB / 12 EUR per person.
